RepurposeOne: How We Built One-to-Eight Content Automation

The founder came to us with a real problem. She was spending 14 hours a week repurposing content. Write one blog post, then manually rewrite it for LinkedIn, Twitter, email, YouTube, and three other channels. Every week. Forever.

She was not asking for a better writing tool. She was asking to stop doing the same work eight times.

That distinction matters. It changed how we built everything.

The Problem With Existing Repurposing Tools

Most tools in this space do one thing: they paste your content into a GPT prompt and return a shorter version. That is not repurposing. That is summarizing.

Real repurposing means understanding the structural grammar of each channel. A Twitter thread opens with a tension hook and resolves it across 8 to 12 tweets. A LinkedIn carousel teaches something in five slides with a visual hierarchy that works without any caption at all. A podcast intro needs to feel spoken, with natural pauses built into the sentence rhythm. An email newsletter earns its subject line before it earns a single click.

These are not the same document in different lengths. They are different formats with different cognitive contracts with the reader.

Building a tool that actually knows the difference is genuinely hard.

The Architecture We Chose

RepurposeOne runs on a three-layer architecture.

Layer one is ingestion and parsing. The user drops in a URL, a document, or raw text. The system extracts the core semantic content, strips formatting noise, and identifies the content type: educational, promotional, narrative, or opinion. This classification changes everything downstream.

Layer two is the transformation engine. This is where the real work happens. We built eight channel-specific prompt templates, but calling them templates undersells what they actually do. Each one contains a channel-specific structural contract. For the Twitter thread template, the first prompt pass identifies the single sharpest claim in the source content. A second pass builds the thread structure around that claim. A third pass edits for voice and cuts anything that reads like it was written, not said.

For the LinkedIn carousel, the system generates a slide-by-slide outline first, then writes each slide as a standalone unit that still connects to the arc. Carousel slide three cannot assume the reader saw slide two. The system is built to know that.

Layer three is quality control and output packaging. Each output is scored against a set of channel-specific rubrics before it is returned to the user. Twitter threads are checked for hook strength in tweet one. Email subjects are checked for length and curiosity gap. YouTube scripts are checked for front-loaded value delivery in the first 30 seconds. If an output scores below threshold, it is regenerated automatically with adjusted parameters.

The user sees a clean dashboard. Eight outputs. Download or publish directly. What they do not see is the 23 internal steps that got them there.

What Broke During Build

Three things nearly derailed this project.

First, context bleed. Early versions of the transformation engine were hallucinating details that existed in adjacent content we used during prompt development. A fitness article would produce email copy referencing claims from a finance article we tested two days earlier. We had to completely isolate context windows per session and per channel. No shared state. Ever.

Second, tone drift across channels. When you process the same source content eight times in sequence, the outputs start sounding like each other by output five. The LinkedIn carousel starts reading like the Twitter thread. The email starts reading like the YouTube script. We solved this by randomizing channel processing order and introducing a tone-reset step between each channel pass. It worked. It added 40 percent to our compute time. We kept it.

Third, the carousel format itself. Generating a carousel as a structured output that a user can actually export as a formatted file, not just as text, required a completely separate rendering pipeline. We underestimated this by two full weeks. The content generation was easy. The file packaging was not.

Why This Is Harder Than It Looks

Anyone can build a tool that takes content and makes it shorter. That takes an afternoon.

Building a tool that understands that a podcast script needs rhetorical questions, that an Instagram caption earns its line breaks, that a Pinterest description lives or dies on its first four words before the fold, that is a product problem disguised as a technical one.

The technical decisions only make sense if you have studied how each channel actually performs. We spent three weeks before writing a single line of code reading high-performing content across all eight channels and reverse-engineering what made each one work.

That research became our architecture.

What Founders Can Take From This

If you are building any kind of AI transformation product, here is the one thing we would tell you to do before you write your first prompt.

Write out, by hand, what the perfect output looks like for each use case. Not a description of it. The actual output. Then write out what a mediocre output looks like. Study the gap. That gap is your product. Build systems that close it.

RepurposeOne works because we were obsessive about that gap before we were obsessive about infrastructure.

The infrastructure just runs the obsession at scale.
